SYFY to rebrand as SciFi in Portugal and Spain

NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer has announced that the SYFY channel will rebrand to SciFi in Portugal and Spain starting October 1. This change aligns the channel with its identity in other European markets and includes a new visual image.

The rebranding will be accompanied by a series of new programming releases. On September 7, the series ‘Crookhaven’ will premiere. Following the official name change on October 1, the third season of the space adventure series ‘The Ark’, created by Dean Devlin, will debut. This launch coincides with the channel's presence at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga from October 1 to 4, where Devlin will participate in fan activities.

Other upcoming releases include the thriller ‘The Killings at Parrish Station’ on October 19 and the second season of ‘The Librarians: The Next Chapter’ in November. The channel will also feature a selection of genre films throughout the final quarter of the year.
