Sygnum Gains MiCAR Licence to Expand Regulated Digital Asset Services in Europe
Swiss digital‑asset bank Sygnum has secured a Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCAR) licence for its Liechtenstein subsidiary, granting the firm direct access to clients across the European Union and European Economic Area. The authorisation enables Sygnum Europe to roll out its regulated banking platform to high‑net‑worth individuals, institutional investors and banks seeking digital‑asset services.
The company will leverage its existing Swiss, Singapore and Middle‑East infrastructure to offer custodial solutions, a crypto‑yield fund and a Bank‑to‑Bank platform that helps European banks launch digital‑asset offerings more quickly. CEO Simon Schneider said the licence allows Sygnum to bring “regulated digital asset services to a broader client base” and positions the firm to become one of Europe’s largest regulated digital‑asset networks by 2027. Sygnum also highlights its AI‑driven transaction capability, combining automated trading with human oversight.
