Sylt Fire Brigade Secures Loose Concrete Slab on Building Facade

On 28 July, a passerby in Westerland on the North Sea island of Sylt reported a concrete section that had become detached from the façade of a building at Friedrichstraße 35a and threatened to fall onto the sidewalk. At 07:16 UTC, fire and police units were dispatched, the area was cordoned off, and firefighters removed the slab in a rapid "replacement emergency" operation. The sidewalk remained closed for about an hour, and the hazard was cleared by 08:23 UTC.

No injuries or additional property damage were reported. The cause of the slab’s detachment is still under investigation.
