Sylvain Francisco signs three‑year deal with ASVEL, eyes NBA future

French point guard Sylvain Francisco has returned to France after five seasons abroad, committing to ASVEL for the next three years under the leadership of former NBA star Tony Parker. Francisco, 28, highlighted his recent season with Lithuanian club Zalgiris Kaunas as his best yet, averaging 16.5 points and 6.5 assists per game, and said he still has room to improve.

He chose ASVEL over other offers, citing the club’s ambitious project to reach the EuroLeague Final Four and possibly win the title. A clause in his contract expires on 20 July, allowing him to pursue an NBA opportunity if it arises. Francisco emphasized the quality of the coaching staff, including Parker and veteran coach Vincent Collet, as key factors in his decision. The signing strengthens ASVEL’s roster as the team aims for higher European competition.
