Sylvain Guintoli auctions custom Sonic-themed motorcycle for charity

Former Superbike World Champion Sylvain Guintoli is auctioning the ‘Dark Rider,’ a unique custom motorcycle, to benefit the Luca Guintoli Foundation. The foundation was established by Guintoli and his wife in memory of their six-year-old son, who passed away from cancer.

Created by Bourget’s Bike Works in 2000, the motorcycle was customized by Sega in 2024 for the ‘Fearless: Year of Shadow’ marketing campaign, promoting the video game ‘Sonic X Shadow Generations’ and the film ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3.’ The design is inspired by the character Shadow the Hedgehog, featuring a black and red color scheme.

The machine is powered by a 1,750cc S&S Super Stock V-twin engine with Edelbrock cylinder heads and an Ultimate six-speed gearbox. It is scheduled to be sold at the Bonhams Autumn Stafford Sale on October 11, 2026, with an estimated price between £10,000 and £15,000. Bonhams has waived its fees, ensuring all proceeds go directly to the foundation.
