Sylvan Lake attempts world records with giant pumpkin trail

Organizers in Sylvan Lake, Alberta, are aiming to break two world records during the upcoming Sylvan Lake Pumpkin Trail, scheduled to run from November 1 to 7, 2026. The community event seeks to surpass the current record for the longest line of carved pumpkins, which stands at 4,164, and the record for the longest line of uncarved pumpkins, with a target of 8,672.

Participants can contribute by dropping off leftover Halloween pumpkins at Lion’s Park in Sylvan Lake throughout the week. The final tally to determine if the records were broken is scheduled for November 8. The event follows a 2025 trail that featured 3,731 pumpkins.
