Sylvester Stallone defends use of AI in film industry
Actor Sylvester Stallone has expressed his belief that artificial intelligence is an inevitable force in the entertainment industry. During an interview on ‘The Overlap’ podcast, the 80-year-old actor stated that while the creative community has valid concerns regarding digital impersonation and job loss, the technology is an ‘avalanche’ that cannot be stopped.
Stallone recalled a previous controversial pitch to producers where he proposed using AI to recreate a younger version of himself for a ‘John Rambo’ prequel. Although the idea met significant resistance, he noted that the technology is already being used to create digital avatars of icons like Elvis.
Addressing the future of the profession, Stallone warned that AI will make it increasingly difficult for new actors to enter the industry. He mentioned advising his daughter, actress Scarlet Rose Stallone, to consider alternative paths such as gaming due to the growing complexity of the acting career.
