Sylvester Stallone reflects on career and health in new memoir
In his new memoir, ‘The Steps’, actor Sylvester Stallone reflects on his life and career 50 years after the release of ‘Rocky’. The 80-year-old star shares intimate details regarding his difficult upbringing, including a traumatic period spent at a residential school in Pennsylvania and a childhood marked by instability.
Stallone also addresses the physical and mental toll of his action movie career. He revealed that his obsession with maintaining an extreme physique for ‘Rocky III’ led to bulimia and the use of steroids. He described his body as an ‘armor’ but admitted the pursuit of low body fat and high muscle mass came at a significant cost to his health.
Beyond his professional success, the memoir covers personal losses, including the death of his son Sage, and his reflections on his journey from a struggling actor in New York to a global icon.
