Sylvester Stallone regrets performing his own dangerous stunts

Sylvester Stallone has reflected critically on his career, specifically regarding his decision to perform dangerous stunts himself rather than employing professionals. Speaking to Fox News Digital, the 80-year-old actor expressed regret over the physical toll these choices took on his body, stating, “I think I am an idiot because I did that.”

Stallone detailed the severe consequences of his actions, noting that an accident on the set of “The Expendables” involving Steve Austin led to significant injuries. He has since undergone nine spinal surgeries, three cervical vertebrae fusions, and has suffered lasting damage to his shoulders and eyes. He noted that he has never regained his peak physical condition and must now manage chronic pain.

As a lesson for younger actors, Stallone advises them to “let the professional do it” and warns against underestimating gravity, noting that the physical consequences often manifest years later.
