Sylvi Listhaug named Norway's most powerful woman
Sylvi Listhaug, leader of the Progress Party (Frp), has been named Norway’s most powerful woman by Kapital magazine. While she shared the top spot last year with Erna Solberg and Tonje Brenna, she stands alone at the top of the ranking this year.
Kapital editor Vibeke Holth noted that Listhaug has achieved a unique position of power without currently holding a seat in the government, driven by high polling numbers for the Progress Party. Listhaug expressed that her primary focus is not on such rankings, but on advancing her party's policies, including cutting taxes, reducing fuel duties, and limiting spending on foreign aid, immigration, and certain climate initiatives.
Other notable women in the top ten include Minister of Labour and Inclusion Kjersti Stenseng in third place, Central Bank Governor Ida Wolden Bache in fourth, and Justice Minister Astri Aas-Hansen in fifth. DNB CEO Kjerstin Braathen is the only business leader in the top ten, ranked ninth.
