Sylvie Langevin celebrates 50 years of painting Quebec landscapes
Multidisciplinary artist Sylvie Langevin is releasing a new book titled ‘50 ans sur les routes du Saint-Laurent’ (50 Years on the Saint Lawrence Routes), documenting five decades of painting Quebec landscapes.
The upcoming publication, scheduled for 2026, will feature reproductions of her paintings alongside short texts inspired by her travels along both banks of the Saint Lawrence River and the Lac-Saint-Jean region. Langevin, who also works as a singer-songwriter, describes her process as an effort to capture details of nature that are often missed in fleeting moments.
Two launch events are planned: an outdoor presentation at the Musée de Charlevoix in La Malbaie on August 23, and a solo launch at the René-Richard Library in Baie-Saint-Paul on October 10.
