Sylvie Meis to star in new ARD series ‘Die Friesenjunkies’

The ARD is set to premiere the eight-part impro-dramedy series ‘Die Friesenjunkies’, marking Sylvie Meis’ first lead role in a German production. Directed by Oskar and Emil Belton, the series is set in the ‘Isebek’ addiction clinic on the island of Sylt.

The show features an ensemble cast including Martin Brambach, Shadi Eck, Stephan Luca, and Peter Kurth. Meis portrays Madison, a character struggling with drug dependency. The narrative explores themes of self-discovery, addiction, and human connection within a setting that brings together celebrities, millionaires, and ordinary individuals.

‘Die Friesenjunkies’ will be available in the ARD Mediathek starting November 6, 2026, with linear television broadcasts scheduled for November 13 and 14 on ‘Das Erste’. The series is also a contender for the Hamburg Producers Award ‘Deutsche Serien’.
