ÖSYM to hold equivalent exam for 392 KPSS candidates in Şanlıurfa
The Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has decided to administer an equivalent exam for 392 candidates following irregularities during the 2026 KPSS Undergraduate session in Şanlıurfa.
The issues occurred at the Harran University Osmanbey Campus, where a traffic accident and road restrictions reduced a main access route to a single lane on the morning of September 6. This caused delays, leading local coordinators to request a 30-minute postponement of the exam start time to 10:45.
Following a detailed investigation involving camera footage and official reports, ÖSYM determined that exam applications in 22 out of 150 halls at the Osmanbey Campus violated official regulations. To ensure justice and equal opportunity, the institution will conduct an equivalent exam specifically for the affected 392 candidates. The decision does not affect the validity of the exam for the approximately 1.7 million other participants across Turkey.
