KPSS 2026: Lawsuit filed to cancel nationwide exam

A lawsuit has been filed in the Ankara 24th Administrative Court seeking the nationwide cancellation of the 2026 KPSS Undergraduate exam. The legal action follows irregularities discovered during the September 6 session at Harran University’s Osmanbey Campus in Şanlıurfa.

Following a traffic accident and road issues that delayed access to the campus, the start time for the exam was pushed back by 30 minutes. An investigation by the Measuring, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM) identified non-compliant practices in 22 exam halls, affecting 392 candidates. To ensure equal opportunity, ÖSYM’s Board of Directors decided to hold an equivalent compensatory exam specifically for those 392 individuals.

Lawyer Mustafa Tuncel, representing the petitioners, argues that the decision to only provide compensatory exams for a small group is insufficient. The lawsuit demands that the entire September 6 exam session be invalidated for all 1.7 million participants. While ÖSYM has not canceled the exam nationally, the judicial process is now determining whether the irregularities warrant a broader cancellation.
