Symphony orchestras in Peru and Ecuador host international soloists

The National Symphony Orchestra of Peru will perform a concert featuring works by Peruvian composer Armando Guevara Ochoa and Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Directed by Fernando Valcárcel, the event includes Ecuadorian violinist Jorge Saade as a guest soloist, aiming to foster cultural integration between Peru and Ecuador.

In Guayaquil, Ecuador, the Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra held a “Grandes Solistas” concert centered on the transverse flute. Directed by Manuel Campos Loor, the performance featured Brazilian flautist James Strauss. The program included the premiere of Carl Frühling’s Fantasy for Flute and Orchestra, Op. 55, alongside works by Johann Strauss, Riccardo Drigo, and Franz von Suppé.
