Synapticon and Stabilus team up on integrated actuators for humanoid robots

Synapticon GmbH and Stabilus SE announced a strategic partnership to develop a line of integrated actuators for humanoid robots. Synapticon will provide actuator intelligence, including software, functional safety, electronics, and drive technology, while Stabilus will contribute mechanical design, sourcing, industrialisation, manufacturing, assembly and logistics. The joint effort targets series‑ready, scalable components that meet the quality and low‑maintenance requirements of industrial‑grade humanoid robots.

The collaboration comes as humanoid platforms such as the AGIBOT A3 showcase natural movement, battery‑swap capability and AI‑driven skill acquisition, highlighting a shift from research prototypes to practical workplace applications in factories and research facilities. Integrated actuators are seen as a key enabler for reliable, high‑precision joint control across all robot limbs.
