Synology launches RS11626xs+ enterprise storage system

Synology has launched the RS11626xs+, a high-performance 3U 20-bay storage system designed for mission-critical environments requiring petabyte-scale data management. The system features 16 bays for 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drives and four dedicated 2.5-inch SSD bays.

Through the use of expansion units, the system can scale up to 116 bays with a raw capacity exceeding 2.6 PB. The hardware architecture includes dual M.2 NVMe slots to run the DiskStation Manager in RAID 1, separating OS processing from the data path to maintain high performance under heavy enterprise workloads. Connectivity options include dual 10GbE ports, with support for 10GbE/25GbE SFP+/SFP28 or Fibre Channel adapters.

The RS11626xs+ supports various enterprise use cases, including comprehensive IT infrastructure backup via Active Backup Suite, and virtual machine/container management through Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager. It is compatible with VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, and OpenStack. The system is currently available through Synology partners and distributors.
