Synopsys AI Agents Cut Chip Verification Time by Up to 50‑Fold

Synopsys, Inc. announced at the 2026 DAC Chips to Systems Conference a suite of autonomous AI‑driven workflows that span electronic design automation (EDA) to computer‑aided engineering (CAE). Using NVIDIA’s Nemotron GPUs and the OpenShell runtime, the company demonstrated a design‑verification agent that can orchestrate the entire chip‑verification cycle, delivering up to 50 × faster time‑to‑validated RTL and about 20 % more coverage. A separate CAE workflow automates thermal‑management and device‑cooling simulations, achieving roughly an 18 × speedup for PrimeSim™ SPICE runs. Synopsys executives highlighted the partnership with NVIDIA as a catalyst for “agentic” engineering, promising higher productivity and deeper insight across silicon and system development.
