Synthesia reaches $4 billion valuation in London

London-based AI startup Synthesia has reached a valuation of $4 billion. The company, which originated from a research project by co-founder Matthias Nießner, a professor at the Technical University of Munich, provides an online platform that uses text and AI-generated avatars to create training and informational videos.

Synthesia is expanding its capabilities with new “role-playing” features, allowing avatars to react dynamically to users during simulated interactions. Employees at the company, such as spokesperson Alexandru Voica, note that London’s ability to attract and retain international talent is a key factor in the scale and growth of such tech enterprises.
