Syracuse defeats Holy Cross 3-1 in women's soccer

Syracuse secured a 3-1 victory over Holy Cross in a women's soccer match held on Sunday. Vickie Jones led the Syracuse offense, scoring twice to help the team improve its record to 1-0-1.

The match remained competitive through the first half. Syracuse took an initial lead in the 44th minute when Jones scored. Holy Cross responded in the 65th minute when Sam Halligan converted a penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1.

Syracuse quickly regained control, scoring two goals in a three-minute span. Jasmine Nixon scored the go-ahead goal following a free kick from Abby Incorvaia, and Jones added her second goal via a penalty kick shortly after. Holy Cross falls to 0-1-1.
