Syracuse defeats North Carolina in overtime

Syracuse secured a 31-30 overtime victory against North Carolina at Kenan Stadium on Saturday. Despite holding a ten-point lead during much of the first and second halves, the Tar Heels surrendered the momentum in the fourth quarter following a 76-yard touchdown pass.

In overtime, North Carolina established a seven-point lead, but Syracuse responded by reaching the end zone on a fourth-and-goal play. A successful two-point conversion finalized the score for the Orange.

UNC linebacker Derek McDonald recorded a game-high 16 tackles. On offense, running back Demon June contributed two touchdowns, while wideout Jordan Shipp caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Billy Edwards Jr. Head coach Bill Belichick noted that the difference in the game was Syracuse making more key plays.
