Syracuse field hockey defeats Stanford 3-2

No. 14 Syracuse field hockey secured a 3-2 victory over Stanford in their weekend opener at J. S. Coyne Stadium. Despite Stanford taking an early lead through a goal by Liv Martin, Syracuse managed to rally back.

Star Horlock scored for Stanford to put the Cardinal ahead 2-1 following a penalty corner. However, Syracuse responded to equalize in the second half. The decisive moment came in the fourth quarter when Taylor Bigbie scored the go-ahead goal, allowing the Orange to overcome two previous deficits and secure the win.
