Syracuse men’s basketball begins Gerry McNamara era

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team begins its regular season at the JMA Wireless Dome against the New Haven Chargers. This marks the first home game for head coach Gerry McNamara, who previously served as an assistant at Syracuse and most recently led Siena to an NCAA Tournament appearance.

The roster features a mix of returning players and new transfers, though analysts note questions regarding defensive consistency and offensive chemistry. A key factor for the early season will be the health of Aiden Tobiason, who is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during an exhibition game against Connecticut.
