Syracuse Municipality warned by Reimann Association over document delays
The Christiane Reimann Association has issued a formal warning to the Municipality of Syracuse, alleging administrative opacity and delays regarding access to public documents.
President Marcello Lo Iacono cited two specific instances of bureaucratic inertia. First, the association claims the Culture Office has failed to deliver documents related to the 2023 ‘Anfiteatro del Parco Reimann in Sicurezza’ project, despite administrative fees being settled in August. The association alleges that officials changed requirements from email delivery to in-person pickup, which they claim violates Law 241/90.
Second, the association is seeking to complete an examination of records concerning the history of Participatory Democracy from 2016 to 2025. They report that since July 6, they have been waiting for an appointment to finalize this review. The association is calling for the immediate intervention of General Director Giorgio Giannì to restore transparency and facilitate the electronic delivery of the requested files.
