Syria engages in diplomatic talks with Morocco and Lebanon
Syria is engaging in several diplomatic efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with neighboring and Arab nations. In Damascus, Mohammed Ahmad, advisor for Arab affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Moroccan Ambassador Abdullah Babah to discuss enhancing cooperation and addressing mutual interests between Morocco and Syria.
Separately, Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabawat and Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs Haneen Sayed met in Damascus to discuss cooperation regarding the return of Syrian refugees, child protection, and social welfare. The discussions focused on child protection, ensuring children remain in school rather than the labor market, and exchanging expertise in social protection systems. The two nations aim to reactivate a 2000 Social Cooperation Agreement and develop a memorandum of understanding through the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Committee.
