Syria: One dead and 17 injured in series of accidents and fires

Syrian Civil Defense teams responded to a high volume of emergencies across the country in a single day. The emergency services addressed 16 traffic accidents, which resulted in one death and 17 injuries. Responders provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to hospitals and cleared the accident sites.

In addition to the road incidents, emergency teams responded to 96 fires in various regions. These fires affected homes, commercial shops, vegetation, trees, waste, and electrical wiring. While the fires caused material damage, no human casualties were reported from the blazes.

Authorities have issued warnings to drivers to reduce speeds, ensure vehicle maintenance—specifically brakes and windshield wipers—and avoid distractions such as mobile phone use. They also advised against lighting fires in forested or agricultural areas and cautioned against discarding cigarette butts or glass near crops.
