Syrian actress Tulin al-Bakri addresses taxi dispute in Damascus
Syrian actress Tulin al-Bakri has addressed a widely circulated video involving a heated dispute with a taxi driver in Damascus. The incident began after a disagreement regarding the vehicle's air conditioning and the chosen route via a ride-hailing application.
During a Facebook live broadcast, al-Bakri admitted to smoking a cigarette inside the vehicle without permission during the argument. The driver, Mohammad Yassin, claimed the dispute escalated when al-Bakri refused to extinguish the cigarette, violating company policy. Yassin alleged that al-Bakri caused damage to his vehicle and admitted to slapping her during the altercation. He has reportedly filed a formal police complaint.
Al-Bakri also used the broadcast to deny rumors linking her to Maher al-Assad and his family, stating that such allegations have harmed her professional reputation and her children. She clarified that she has not permanently left Syria, but has traveled for work purposes.
