Syrian Coast Guard Deploys on Beaches Amid Unstable Sea Conditions

Coast Guard units under the General Directorate of Ports and Customs spread along Syria's shoreline to raise readiness after a marine alert warned of high waves and strong winds. The teams conducted continuous field patrols, monitored rocky and exposed areas, and warned residents and beachgoers against swimming or using small boats during the warning period.

The alert, issued by the Syrian Civil Defence, urged the public to avoid the sea. Coast Guard personnel used media notices and direct outreach to keep people informed, and prepared immediate rescue operations. No drownings or material damage were reported, and sea conditions later returned to relative stability, allowing normal beach activities to resume.
