Syrian countryside sees 20 military raids and mosque attack
Reports indicate an escalation of military activities and raids within Syrian territory. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, there were 20 raids and attacks in the Syrian countryside this month. These operations included engineering works, land clearing, the establishment of temporary military checkpoints, and the installation of surveillance cameras.
Most of these activities were concentrated in the Wadi al-Rakad and Yarmouk Basin areas west of the Daraa countryside. Additionally, raids occurred in the Quneitra countryside, specifically in the town of Jebata al-Hashab and the villages of al-Samdaniyah and al-Acraf. The report also noted frequent flights by unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopters over Daraa and Quneitra.
In a separate incident in Suwayda, armed groups affiliated with Hikmat al-Hajiri targeted the Omar bin Khattab Mosque in the Muqawwes neighborhood with machine guns. Footage released of the attack showed damage to the mosque following the gunfire.
