Syrian displaced families return to eight provinces

A new voluntary return convoy has transported 220 families from displacement camps in northern Idlib to their original homes across eight Syrian provinces, including Idlib, Hama, Homs, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Latakia, Damascus, and Rif Dimashq.

The initiative is sponsored by the Idlib Governorate in cooperation with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Muzn Organization, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. An international delegation was present during the distribution of aid.

Returning families received various forms of assistance, including bedding and non-food items from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, as well as food baskets and ready-to-eat canned goods from the Banafsej Organization. This marks the first time food baskets have been distributed as part of these return convoys.

The movement is part of an ongoing effort to rehabilitate affected areas and support the return of residents under the “Syria Without Camps” vision, despite some returning residents noting partial damage to their homes.
