Syrian families begin voluntary return from northern camps

A new wave of voluntary returns has commenced from displacement camps in northern Syria. On Thursday, a convoy of 229 families departed from Idlib, heading toward their original towns in the Idlib, Hama, Homs, Deir ez-Zor, Damascus, Rif Dimashq, and Daraa governorates.

Additionally, a convoy of 32 families left the Azaz region in northern Aleppo countryside to return to their home areas. These movements are part of the “Syria Without Camps” vision and aim to facilitate the resettlement of displaced persons and promote local stability.

The operations are being coordinated by several entities, including the Idlib Governorate, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, and the Muzn organization. To date, approximately 35 such convoys have been organized, involving more than 6,000 families.
