Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa to attend Arab Media Summit and UN General Assembly

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa is scheduled to participate in several high-profile international engagements in September 2026. He will attend the Arab Media Summit in Dubai from September 15 to 17, where he is set to join a dialogue session regarding the future of media and strategic communication amidst regional political and economic transformations.

Following the summit, Al-Sharaa will travel to New York on September 21 to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his four-day visit, he is expected to deliver Syria’s address to world leaders on September 23. His itinerary includes a scheduled bilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on September 22 to discuss Syrian-US relations, security, and economic issues.

Additionally, the President will participate in a dialogue organized by the Atlantic Council. Discussions are expected to focus on Syria’s vision for reconstruction, economic recovery, institutional reform, and the country’s continued regional reintegration.
