Syrian security forces arrest militant leader in Al-Sanamin
Syrian Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of Walid Khalil Saad al-Din al-Falah in Al-Sanamin, north of Daraa. Al-Falah is identified as a prominent leader of an armed cell accused of killing three security personnel during an operation on September 17.
The incident began when a security patrol attempted to arrest a wanted individual, leading to armed clashes that left three officers dead and others wounded. Authorities have linked the militant group to ISIS. Following the attack, security forces imposed a temporary curfew in Al-Sanamin and conducted searches in several neighborhoods.
Brigadier General Hussam Mamoun al-Tahan, commander of the Internal Security Forces in Daraa, stated that the cell is led by Muhsin al-Haymad and Ahmed al-Othman, also known as ‘al-Kashki’. While several individuals including Ali al-Dhiyab and Qasim al-Layli have reportedly been detained, the whereabouts of al-Haymad remain uncertain. Security forces previously reported finding weapons, ammunition, and explosive devices during searches of properties belonging to group leaders.
