Syria protests Israeli military incursions in the south
Hundreds of Syrians held widespread protests across several provinces, including Damascus, Homs, Raqqa, Idlib, Daraa, and Quneitra, to condemn repeated Israeli military incursions and attacks in southern Syria. Demonstrators expressed solidarity with residents in Quneitra and Daraa, calling for international action to respect Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The protests were partly triggered by the death of a person with disabilities during an Israeli incursion in the Daraa countryside. Families of detainees also participated, demanding the release of Syrian citizens held in Israeli custody. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights documented approximately 280 Israeli incursions into Syrian territory over the past month.
In Quneitra, protesters in Han Arnabe criticized the continued raids on border regions. Additionally, in Saas'a, citizens called upon the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to investigate the uprooting of fruit and forest trees in the Quneitra governorate and the border strip.
