SYRIZA targets Thessaloniki International Fair for political relaunch

The SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance party is preparing for a major political relaunch, using the upcoming Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) as a primary milestone. Following a period of internal unrest and several high-profile departures, the party leadership, including President Rena Dourou, aims to demonstrate organizational stability and political resilience.

During recent Political Secretariat meetings, the party announced it would gradually unveil a comprehensive political program. Key thematic areas include cost of living, real income, public electricity, housing, private debt, taxation, labor, healthcare, education, and regional development. The party also highlighted its stance on the early repayment of 13 billion euros in low-interest public debt.

In addition to its policy rollout, SYRIZA is undergoing organizational restructuring, including the reorganization of its Parliamentary Group and the revitalization of the Nikos Poulantzas Institute. The party leadership has also called on former MPs who left the organization to return their seats, claiming that their retention of seats contributes to a perceived plan to dismantle the party's parliamentary strength.
