SYRIZA Announces Election Readiness and Overhaul of Political Platform

The political secretariat of Greece's SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance announced that the party has entered a phase of political offense, aiming to reshape the political map in favour of a modern left and to achieve a comprehensive party renewal. Four main pillars were presented:

1. Economy and Social Protection – proposals include addressing inflation, cutting indirect taxes on food and fuel, taxing excess profits in banking and energy, and returning the €6 billion surplus to households, businesses and society through low‑interest loan repayments. 2. Public Control of Critical Infrastructure – the party calls for the re‑nationalisation of DEH and ELPE and the creation of a strong public pillar in the banking system. 3. Institutional Protection and Constitutional Revision – SYRIZA defends Article 16 against the privatisation of tertiary education, upholds free public university education, and opposes measures that would weaken executive accountability (Article 86). 4. Alliances and Political Call – SYRIZA declared full electoral readiness, positioning itself as an accelerator of collaborations and pledging to form alliances with groups that support the revival of the modern left.

The party frames these measures as a response to the current government's policies and as a roadmap for the upcoming election campaign.
