SYRIZA claims that the Mayor of Thermos has taken legal action against eight opposition municipal councilors, including Ziova, following a collective political text. The party argues that political criticism, regardless of how sharp, should not be met with criminal or professional disciplinary measures. They have called upon the Ministry of Education to intervene to ensure that educators do not face professional consequences for their political and local government activities. SYRIZA also intends to bring the matter to Parliament to address the broader institutional implications of using legal processes to suppress political dissent.
