SYRIZA leaders assert party strength at Thessaloniki Fair

SYRIZA leaders Rena Dourou and Nikos Pappas addressed the International Thessaloniki Fair, asserting the party's renewed strength and commitment to progressive leftist values.

Rena Dourou, head of the SYRIZA parliamentary group, criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding foreign policy, specifically citing a lack of a cohesive national strategy toward Turkey. She also raised questions regarding the independence and economic sustainability of the 'Achilles Shield' air defense system.

Nikos Pappas, Secretary of the SYRIZA Central Committee, expressed confidence that the party will return to Parliament in a strengthened position. He outlined the party's economic platform, which includes proposals for a 13th month salary and pension, zero VAT on food and medicine, and reduced fuel taxes. Pappas also challenged the government's fiscal rules and called for public debate on spending and economic management.
