New Democracy leads Greek polls amid social dissatisfaction

A new Prorata opinion poll reveals that New Democracy maintains a nine-point lead in voting intention with 25.5%, followed by the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS) at 16.5%. PASOK holds third place at 9%, while Elliiki Lysi and the KKE show slight increases.

Despite the lead, the poll indicates significant social dissatisfaction, with approximately two-thirds of citizens calling for political change. The cost of living remains the primary concern for nearly 80% of respondents, followed by issues regarding justice, corruption, and healthcare.

Public reaction to recent economic announcements made at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) is largely skeptical. Regarding Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s proposals, 82% of respondents believe their daily lives will improve only slightly or not at all. Similarly, 69% view the proposals from Alexis Tsipras negatively. While New Democracy leads, the data suggests challenges in regaining the level of support required for a parliamentary majority.
