SYRIZA demands reopening of investigation into Adonis Georgiadis

The SYRIZA party has launched a series of legal actions regarding the Novartis scandal, specifically targeting Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis. A delegation led by Transparency Sector head Pavlos Polakis is meeting with the Economic Crime Prosecutor to request the reopening of a case involving Georgiadis and certain ‘unspecified’ sums of money.

SYRIZA’s demands include a tax audit of the Minister, accountability for a failed €214 million state lawsuit against Novartis, and the dismissal of Nikos Maniadakis from his public university position following his conviction for perjury. The party cites new evidence, including text messages submitted to Parliament by former MP Marios Salmas, as grounds for reopening the investigation.

Adonis Georgiadis has rejected the moves, labeling them as “complete irrationality” driven by electoral pressure. He argued that instead of apologizing for the Novartis scandal, political opponents are seeking further confrontation.
