Syrık wedding explosion linked to U.S. munitions by analysts

An explosion during a wedding ceremony in the Kohastak area of Syrık, Hormozgan, has resulted in at least four deaths, including a child, and dozens of injuries.

Analysis by Reuters suggests the incident was likely caused by a direct hit from American munitions. Experts reviewing confirmed footage noted that the explosion pattern matches a 500-pound aerial bomb. Additionally, The New York Times reported that satellite imagery and munition debris, including a tail fin and body parts consistent with a U.S.-made Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW), indicate a JSOW bomb struck the residential area.

Local reports from Halvash suggest a telecommunications tower approximately 200 meters from the house was targeted by a missile before two drones struck the building. While local witnesses reported hearing drones, Halvash noted they cannot independently verify the nature of the debris collected by security forces.

In response, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated it is investigating reports of civilian casualties. CENTCOM spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins emphasized that the U.S. military does not target civilians.
