Syros murder investigation: Judicial verdict challenges suspect's claims

Investigations are intensifying into the murder of 41-year-old EKAB rescuer Evangelia Zagorianou in Ano Syros. A judicial council verdict has challenged the claims of the 41-year-old detained suspect, who argued the fatal stabbing occurred inside a home during self-defense.

The verdict indicates the suspect may have used a flowerpot to immobilize the victim before stabbing her in the back.

Significant questions remain regarding the victim's motive for approaching the residence while wearing surgical gloves, a backpack, and carrying a knife with her face covered. The victim's father spoke publicly about her final words to him, stating she told him she was going to ‘do a little job’ before the tragedy occurred.
