Syros hosts inaugural MAZI Festival focused on dementia care

The inaugural MAZI Festival, organized by the ‘Agkalia Mnimes’ Association, concluded on October 18–19, 2026, in Syros, Greece. Held at the Apollon Theatre, the Cultural Center, and Miaouli Square, the event was titled ‘Together in every journey.’

As one of the first institutions in the Aegean dedicated entirely to dementia, the festival aimed to move from awareness to social change. The program featured scientific roundtables, experiential workshops, city-wide activities, and documentary screenings.

Collaborations included the Municipality of Syros-Hermoupolis, the General Hospital of Syros, and representatives from the Municipality of Pavlou Melas in Thessaloniki, with discussions focusing on establishing a Day Center for Dementia and a Dementia Advisory Station.
