Syros island seeks volunteers for cat welfare project
The Greek island of Syros is seeking volunteers to assist with the care and well-being of its large feline population. The British non-profit organization Cat Syros, which has been active since 2012, manages an estimated 3,000 cats across the island through systematic sterilization and care.
Volunteers are required to work approximately five hours a day, six days a week. Responsibilities include distributing food, changing water, cleaning cages and common areas, and administering medication under supervision. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and proficient in English.
In exchange for their service, the organization provides free accommodation in a shared residential structure, breakfast, and internet access. Volunteers are responsible for their own flights, lunch, dinner, and local transportation.
