System 3 announces Putty World for Nintendo Switch 2

System 3 has announced Putty World, a reimagining of its classic Putty series, which is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in the second quarter of 2027. The project was showcased at the Tokyo Game Show as an early playable technology and graphics demonstration.

The game is the first entry in System 3’s new “What If?” series. This concept explores how classic titles might have appeared and played if the hardware capabilities of today, such as modern processing power, higher frame rates, and improved resolution, had been available during their original development in the mid-1990s.

Mark Cale, founder and CEO of System 3, stated that the goal is to revisit the original creative vision without the technical limitations of the past, combining the personality of the original games with the fluidity and visual detail possible on modern hardware.
