Szczecin dog rescued after days of howling, found tied to bed in empty flat

Residents of Zakopiańska Street in Szczecin reported a dog howling and barking day and night for several days. Neighbours noted an open window and the absence of the apartment’s occupants, a family that had recently lived there.

Firefighters and police responded to the call, entered the flat through the open window and discovered a lone dog tied to a bed with no food or water. The animal was taken into the care of a representative from the local animal‑welfare society. Police are investigating the whereabouts of the owners, who have not been seen in the area.

The incident was highlighted on social media by Wiktoria Kamińska, and Franciszek Goliński of the Szczecin State Fire Service confirmed the findings to TVN24.
