Szczecin parking dispute intensifies over access barriers

A dispute has escalated in Szczecin regarding access to a renovated parking area located within the block bounded by Niemierzyńska, Lenartowicza, Zamoyskiego, and Krasińskiego streets. While the city renovated the surface of the parking area to make it more civilized, the Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa Pod dachem has installed a barrier (szlaban) on its property, restricting access to its own members.

Local residents have expressed frustration, claiming they are being excluded from a municipal parking space due to the lack of alternative access routes. The housing cooperative maintains that the barrier is a legal exercise of property rights and a protest against the city's failure to plan proper access points during the renovation.

Local councilors from the Niebuszewo-Bolinko district are set to debate the issue. Proposed solutions include negotiating road easements with other housing cooperatives, though previous attempts at mediation with Pod dachem have reportedly failed due to conflicting conditions.
