Szczecin to host Żagle 2026 sailing festival and running event

The Żagle 2026 festival in Szczecin is set to combine sailing traditions with a wide range of cultural and sporting activities along both banks of the Odra River. The event will feature over 30 sailing vessels arriving from Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavian countries, offering visitors opportunities to tour decks and participate in river cruises.

The festival program includes concerts on the Szczecin and Folk-Shanty stages, the Ninth Brass Band Festival, and various culinary zones such as the Food Port and West Pomeranian Flavors Alley.

As part of the festivities, the Bieg Pod Żaglami (Run Under Sails) will take place on Saturday, August 15. The approximately 5-kilometer route will cross the Odra via a pontoon bridge and include a youth race. Organizers have noted that the course features challenging elements such as stairs, curbs, and variable surfaces, and have advised participants to prepare for high temperatures.
