Szeged hosts glass art and folk costume exhibitions

Szeged is hosting two distinct cultural exhibitions. At the Kiss Kunszt Gallery, glass artist Zsuzsanna Deák presents ‘Időbe zárt fény’, a jubilee exhibition marking her thirty-year career. The collection features various stages of her professional journey, including architectural glass works, restoration projects, and her ‘Re-built Glass’ project, which explores sustainability through the repurposing of architectural glass waste. The exhibition, running until October 10, also includes personal works exploring themes of memory and femininity.

Additionally, the Délvidék House will host ‘Szálakba szőtt örökség’ starting September 17. This exhibition showcases the work of embroidery and lace master Valéria Sebők and folk costume maker Kornélia Galai. The display includes rare traditional costumes, such as the Ludas folk dress, and revived woven lace techniques. The exhibition highlights both individual creations and collaborative pieces where Sebők’s lace complements Galai’s garments.
