Szeged sees dust devil at BYD plant and announces university board candidates

A small rotating wind vortex, known as a dust devil, was recorded at the BYD electric‑vehicle factory construction site in Szeged. A worker filmed the brief phenomenon and shared the video on a local Facebook group; such vortices typically form over heated ground in clear weather.

The Senate of the University of Szeged (Szegedi Tudományegyetem) presented five names it may forward to the Ministry of Culture and Innovation for appointment to the foundation’s curatorial board. The candidates are literary historian Mihály Szajbély, neurologist László Vécsei, criminal‑law scholar Zsolt Szomora, plant biologist Éva Kondorosi, and former Pick CEO Endre József Nagy. The ministry will make the final decision.
